TRIPLE THREAT- THE NEWEST DRUG RESISTANT SUPER BUG IS READY !!

The newest and perhaps the worst microbial threat to the society is Carbapenem( eg:  imipenem, meropenem, doripenem, and ertapenem) Resistant Enterobacteriaceae ( eg:  Escherichia coli, Enterobacter aerogenes, Enterobacter cloacae complex, Klebsiella pneumoniae, or Klebsiella oxytoca). Otherwise known as CRE.

They are called ' Triple Threat ' to the society, because :

1. They are resistant to almost all antibiotics

2. Have a high mortality rate killing almost 50% of infected patients

3. Can easily transfer their antibiotic resistance to other bacteria.
